How I Use Tailwind to Explode My Pinterest Reach and Website Traffic
**This post does contain affiliate links for Tailwind. If you try Tailwind using my link I will get a small commission on each sale. This is the first affiliate program I have EVER done because I am so confident in this service. I know it works and would never recommend something that I don't use myself! I REALLY love it and I know you will too!
Hey, friends! Let me ask you a question...do you have a hard time driving traffic to your website or blog? Are you frustrated that your page views seem to stay the same day after day despite all of your hustle?
Girl, I have been there. Then I started hearing about this thing called "Tailwind". Everyone seemed to be talking about it on their podcasts and blogging about how awesome it was at helping you to use Pinterest to drive traffic to your website. I decided that I need to do some investigating. If Tailwind really worked then I needed to get in on this.
So, I signed up. Tailwind gives you a free trail so you can try and it and see if it's for you and after that it's only $9.99/month if you choose annual billing. (I will tell you that Tailwind more than pays for itself so, it's definitely worth the small investment!)
WHAT IS TAILWIND?
What is Tailwind, exactly? It is a social media scheduler that works with Instagram and Pinterest. I currently only use it to schedule my Pinterest Pins but I am thinking of tapping into their Instagram tools very soon!
Tailwind allows you to schedule out pins for days, weeks and even months at a time. It is a way for you to be constantly pinning and pushing out your pins with linked with your content. Pinterest loves pinners who are consistent and prefers that consistency over someone who "binge pins" (meaning they pin maybe 50 pins at one time a week).
Tailwind does all of the pinning for you! All you have to do is fill up your schedule. The BEST part of Tailwind is that you can upload your own pins that are linked to your content from your blog or website and add those pins to your schedule.
THE FIRST FIVE
Pinterest has recently put out some guidance called "the first five pins". This concept means that Pinterest will show your followers the first 5 pins your post for the day (starting at 1200 UTC). I actually love this new system because I can schedule my own pins to be the first 5 of the day at 7pm (which is UTC time in the Central time zone). That means I don't have to jump on Pinterest everyday at 7pm to pin my first five. It's all done for me using Tailwind!
I started using Tailwind about 4 weeks ago and since I began my Pinterest reach and my blog traffic has exploded. This data is comes right from my Pinterest Analytics - In the past two weeks my Average Daily impressions from the pins that link to my blog has grown 1,500.33% ! Wait, WHAAAT?!
Pretty crazy, right?
The data from Pinterest supports the analytics from Square Space where I host my blog. My page views have gone up substantially and I have only been using Tailwind for about 4 weeks!
